Grand River Bank is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Assistant to join our dedicated Grandville team. This position is responsible for supporting our Commercial Lenders by promptly obtaining and preparing information and documentation to ensure an outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities of this career opportunity include:

  • Assists with general loan administration for Commercial Lenders.
  • Takes ownership of and provides an outstanding level of customer service for both external and internal Bank customers.
  • Manages an integral piece of the loan documentation process working with the commercial loan team to ensure loans are closed with a high degree of accuracy in documentation.
    • Completes loan checklists for each loan and maintains organized credit and collateral files.
    • Orders and reviews third-party due diligence.
    • Drafts commercial loan documentation.
    • Assists with, or directly prepare, loan disbursements.
    • Ensures prompt and accurate collateral lien security and perfection.
    • Maintains and manages documentation exceptions tracking and reporting.
  • Understands and supports Grand River Bank’s policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participates in continual improvement process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates must possess:

  • High school or equivalent required, higher education preferred
  • Two or more years Commercial Loan Assistant experience within a financial institution.
  • Professional demeanor and proven exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Organizational skills, and be detailed oriented.
  • The desire to be part of a team.
